Our Story
In 1987, Advanced Physical Therapy of Venice was opened by Dr. Kitty Galica, under her company Advanced Health Systems, Inc. Since its doors opened over 35 years ago, Advanced Physical Therapy of Venice has been actively involved in providing healthcare to the community.

Our mission is to treat every person with compassion and empathy needed to help guide the client out of pain and restore function. We strive to employ individualized treatment options that are evidence based, patient centered and multi-faceted, ultimately empowering our patients to take control of their pain. It is a privilege to serve as your partner, your advocate and your guide in the recovery process. My goal is to facilitate your full return to all functional, recreational and sport activities.

Dr. Kitty Galica
Physical Therapist
Dr. Kathleen “Kitty” Galica, DPT, JD, MPH has been practicing Physical Therapy in Sarasota since 1983. She started her private practice in Venice, Advanced Health Systems, Inc., specializing in orthopedic and sports physical therapy in 1987. Dr. Galica is from Stafford, CT, and holds a Doctorate in Physiotherapy from Mass General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, a Master’s in Public Health from USF, a BS Law and JD from Novus University, and BSPT from Ithaca College.

Dr. Kitty Galica has led a distinguished career as a clinical physical therapist for the past 40 years in the rehabilitation of sports injuries and orthopedic lesions. She has served as Clinical Instructor for multiple DPT and PTA programs and has participated in research articles and clinical outcome studies.
Dr. Galica’s compassion for helping others extends beyond her PT practice and into the community. She is actively involved in many Sarasota volunteer projects and community outreach programs. For the past 12 years has served on the Advisory Board for the Sarasota Salvation Army, where she currently serves as its Vice Chair.
Dr. Brandon Butry
Physical Therapist
Dr. Brandon Butry grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania before moving to Naples, Florida. It was here that he earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology at Ave Maria University while playing college football. He continued his education at Florida Gulf Coast University where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
Dr. Brandon's previous athletic experience playing both soccer and football not only inspired his passion for sports medicine, but led him to to multiple opportunities to learn from some of the best clinical instructors, including the Boston Red Sox Rehabilitation Department during the 2023 Spring Training season.
Dr. Burty is currently working towards completing his Manual Therapy and Dry Needling Certifications to further improve patient outcomes. He is looking forward to helping his patients recover and achieve their goals.
